Which motorcycle luggage you choose to get for your bike can be as hard or as easy as you want to make it. Bikers who are looking for bags for their bikes usually fall into 3 categories :
1. Tthere are those of us with more money than we know what to do with who can go out and buy the best, most expensive luggage on the market without giving it a second thought.
2. The bikers who barely have two shekel’s to rub together who will do everything in their power to spend as little money as possible on whatever is available at a knock down price. These are the types who will spend weeks scouring eBay for the bargain of the century and won’t rest until they pick up a bargain.
3. Most of us lie somewhere in the middle of these two groups and for us it can be a tough decision to decide which to buy. With a wide variety of equipment available at a wide range of prices it can be difficult to ensure you are getting the best value for money while getting exactly what you need.
We need to decide what the main use of our motorcycle luggage is going to be, how often we are going to use it whether we are concerned about how fashionable our purchase is.
If you are going to use your tank bag and panniers on a regular basis throughout the year then you are going to want to get the highest quality bags made from the thickest material possible. You might even want to splash out and get hard luggage at extra cost. If your only purpose is to throw some soft luggage over your sports bike’s tail once a year for a week break from work then you can settle for something a little more economical.
Like every other purchase you make you generally get what you pay for with motorcycle luggage. If you want something that is going to last a lifetime then there is no way around it, you’re going to have to spend that bit more to get the quality you desire unless you can pick something up second hand.
